Guided play with colour coded materials:

Your child will learn to play and read music with colour coded materials for example:

Colour coded sheet music and C major chromatic colour desk bells. We make use of the chroma-notes colour system.

Listening Games

Play basic aural comprehension- and listening for chords -games.

Call & Response/ Echo Rhythms 

Your child needs a good sense of rhythm to play an instrument.

With this format your child will be able to play the rhythm before they can read the rhythm.Sound before sight.

This format will also help your child to develop an internal metronome.

Intraverbals

Helps with languages acquisitions and music engagement.

Music and movement 

Reinforce a steady beat, either through dancing to the beat, stomping or marching to the beat.

Animals movement also helps to alternate hands, reinforce coordination and helps your child to imagine different pictures, scenes and emotions they can attach to music.

Modeling 

Little ones love to copy our behavior.

Teachers model activities in classrooms because it’s an effective way to communicate our expectations to children.

Charlene studied music at COPA (Campus of Performing Arts) She received a Cathsseta National Certificate in Music industry Practice,BTEC Certificate:Working in the Musical Industry and Working as a musical Ensemble and an ACM Intermediate Certificate in Contemporary Popular Music Practice in Vocals.

 She completed a TEFL Advanced Diploma Level 5 (420hour). Charlene also have a Bachelors degree in Multimedia Studies:Multimedia in Digital Visual Arts

She has been a music teacher before.She taught music theory and singing (vocal) lessons to young- and adult students.

Fun Facts:

Charlene is a Double Gold Awarded singer at the South African Talent Championships.

Finalist at the barnyard Theatre competition.

She sang on a TV show when she was only 13 years old.

Charlene was part of the Northern KZN Youth Choir and participated in numerous championships, talent shows and musical ensembles.

Charlene was also a music tutor in music theory, music session styles, ear training, stage craft, repertoire development and technical development.

She  also worked in the film industry as an art director and also done editing work on films. 

Now Charlene is a mother of a lovely little two year old boy that is her entire world. 

She is an animal lover and love to sing, paint and spend time with her family in her free time.

We are excited to share the great news.We are launching our piano program from January 2025 for our 3+ age group.

The program follows the same concept as the chromatic colour desk bells' program, only this time your child will play on an electric piano/keyboard.

They will learn about the Musical Alphabet.

To help your child memorize where to notes are, we will  label the piano according to the chromatic colours.

Your child  will learn about piano dynamics; how to play soft and loud and long and short notes.They will also learn about posture.

Your child will learn about black and white notes and about C major up to High C major; an octave.

Your child will also learn to play some fun nursery rhymes .

We are excited to share the great news.We are launching our singing program from March 2025.

Your little one will learn about:

• Posture
• Vocal Exercises 
• Warm ups
• Breathing Exercises
•  Technical Development (Sing Solfège and Scales),
• Repertoire Development:Practice to sing songs
• Stage Craft:How to perform these songs.

This program can also be incorporated with     the Music Curriculum at a small additional fee.
